Itinerary

First Day - Transfer from arrival place (airport or station of Bari) to Hotel Masseria Gravelle: itinerary introduction and a walk through the Masseria facility and farmed fields. Here you will have a delicious dinner with local cheese and meat specialities.

Second Day - Walk with a guide through the marvellous alleyways of Conversano, where the coexistence of Lords, Abbesses and Bishops was never easy. See what remains of an important heritage: the Castle, Monastery and Cathedral; the guide will narrate facts and tales related to those places. From here you will move to to the UNESCO site of Alberobello and visit the iconic trulli, unique cone-roofed houses of Apulia. You will conclude your day travelling to a natural harbour and having a delicious seafood dinner on the terrace restaurant La Colonna, few meters away from the sea, the tower and the abbey. Return to Hotel.

Third day - Parco delle Dune Costiere is a a wild protected area along the shore line; here you will have a guided excursion by a researcher of Polyxena: you will try to catch, recognize and release butterflies, a real hard Butterfly-Safari! Afterwards you will reach the "White Town" of Ostuni: the small streets give an incredible panoramic view on olive trees, stone walls and the coastline; on top of the old centre you will meet Orsola and Gabriele and savour their delicious dishes with local ham and cheese, the so called "affettato misto" as well as salads. Return to Hotel.

Fourth day - Today you will go to Polignano a Mare and have a walk through the old centre, which is perched atop a twenty meters high limestone cliff above the crystal clear sea water; from here you will enjoy one of the most enchanting view in Italy; afterwards you will descent to Lama Monachile for a first impression about the erosion made by temporary water flows; this place is also known as the beach of Polignano: a pleasure to swim there... After half an hour driving, you will arrive to Locorotondo at Gianni's family wine cellar: I Pastini; the visit of their organic vineyard, the old stone house and the modern production belongs to your fascinating wine experience that will introduce you to their professional wine tasting! The "round" town of Locorotondo, to see from their field, will be your next destination, before to return to your Hotel.

Fifth day - During the morning you will visit first the weekly street market of Noicattaro to have an idea of local seasonal vegetables and fruits, then meet Alberto and his handmade Taralli and Pasta shop; the deep consciousness of Alberto about quality food makes his explanation very interesting: Of course you will also try to produce a couple of Taralli! After a break in Hotel, you will travel to Bari and have a walking guided tour of the old centre: "Bari Vecchia" through the thousand-year old architecture: the Castle and two religious institutions, the Saint Nicholas Basilica and the Cathedral, will give you an idea of the complicated history of this place from Middle Ages to the present. The rest of afternoon will be free for a relaxing walk along the seafront (Lungomare) or shopping time in the pedestrian and commercial area of Via Sparano. Dinner in a typical Osteria. Return to Hotel.

Sixth day - Terracotta pottery is a really ancient craftsmanship, nowadays exercised by few artisans; Tonino is indeed one of the last; he gains raw material from surrounding land and realize marvellous objects by an astonishing ability: Visiting his workshop is a unique experience! Break in the Hotel. The afternoon will be spent in Monopoli, one of the most beautiful sea town in Italy; you will walk through the marvellous old centre alleyways and be delighted by a delicious seafood dinner at Guazzetto Restaurant. Return to the Hotel.

Seventh day - For this last day the group will agree together with the tour leader, where to spend the morning: for a stroll or shopping time? Or maybe both? In the afternoon you will have a guided walk through Brindisi old centre; the importance of this Apulian city on a natural harbour begins during the Roman Empire: here ended the Appian Way from Rome and from here departed ships towards Greece and Egypt. Return to hotel for dinner and salutation.

Eighth day - Last coffee together and transfer to your departing place: Good-Bye Puglia!
